Lighting
Studio provides a number of lighting options to illuminate 3D content in your scenes, ranging from simple directional lights to more complex environment lights.
For ease of use, Studio also provides two of these as preset lighting templates under the Symbol Definitions panel, the Gravity Light and the Gravity Environment Light, which contain a directional light and environment light, respectively, that always remains upright in relation to gravity.
In order to be affected by lighting, 3D models should be imported with a lighting material, the use of which requires additional texture maps to be created during the external texturing process, as they will define how the model's surface will react to lighting.
As additional texture maps are required, in the form of image files, experiences that use lighting are likely to experience an increase in final download size. In these scenarios, we recommend following our optimization tips to keep your AR experiences light.
