Doors
When a space is scanned, some rooms or areas may appear as separate, disconnected sections in the map data - particularly where a door was closed during scanning or where the scan did not fully capture the transition between rooms. The Doors tool lets you create explicit connections between these areas so that navigation routes can pass through them.
Adding a door
Section titled “Adding a door”- In the Spaces editor, open the Structure section in the left-hand panel and select Doors.
- Click Add door.
- On the map mesh, click to place the door across the opening between the two areas you want to connect. Doors should be placed on the horizontal surface of the map mesh, aligned with the threshold of the opening.
Once placed, Spaces will treat the door as a navigable connection between the two sections, and routes will pass through it as expected.
The nav mesh will update automatically. If your routing does not reflect the change, use Regenerate nav mesh in Advanced to force an update.
When to use doors
Section titled “When to use doors”Use doors when:
- A room or corridor appears disconnected from the rest of the map despite being physically accessible.
- A doorway was closed during scanning and created a gap in the walkable area.
- You want to explicitly control the connection point between two areas.
