This section walks you through everything you need to create and publish your first Spaces indoor navigation experience.

Before you begin

Spaces requires a 3D scan of your environment processed through a supported VPS provider. Make sure you have completed the scanning step before creating your project in Zapworks. See the Mapping article for details.

Spaces must be enabled on a per-workspace basis. If you do not see Spaces in your Zapworks project list, contact support@zappar.com to have it activated.

Steps to get started

1. Mapping - Scan your environment and obtain your VPS map credentials from your provider’s developer portal.
2. Set up your Space - Create a new Spaces project in Zapworks and connect it to your map.
3. Add landmarks - Define the destinations users can search for and navigate to.
4. Publish - Enable public access and share your QR code or link with users.

You can also edit your Space on a mobile device - useful when you need to place landmarks or obstacles while physically on site.
